Designed to protect what cannot be replaced, the Luna Time Capsule Pendant is a keepsake to be passed down through generations.
Rather than being encased within a classic keepsake stone, your inclusions are held within a waterproof compartment, beneath a genuine hand-cut crystal.
The crystal creates a clear, protective window over your inclusions, held safely within the compartment. The Time Capsule is carefully designed to protect and preserve their natural appearance over time.

Keepsake Details
Our Time Capsule Keepsakes preserve your inclusions in their natural form within a dry, fully sealed waterproof compartment beneath a hand-cut crystal.
Unlike traditional keepsake jewellery, your inclusions are not permanently set in resin or within a keepsake stone. Instead, they remain naturally held inside the piece and may be accessible in the future if repairs are ever required.
Inspired by historical reliquaries, each Time Capsule is handmade in Sydney and cast in solid, nickel-free precious metal using traditional techniques. This makes it our most durable keepsake collection, designed to become a modern heirloom.
Suitable for breastmilk, ashes, hair, umbilical cord, fabric, flowers and other sentimental inclusions, each piece includes access to our Annual Maintenance Checks. As the inclusions are held naturally rather than permanently fixed in place, slight movement may occur over time.
How it works
STEP 1: Choose your Style
Start by selecting your precious metal and chain style or ring size.
STEP 2: Select your Main Inclusion
Choose the main inclusion you would like featured inside your Time Capsule. Depending on the inclusion selected, it can either fill the compartment or be placed over a coloured base.
STEP 3: Add Additional Inclusions - Optional
You can add additional inclusions to be arranged within your Time Capsule. These will be carefully placed over or within your main inclusion, depending on the materials selected.
Your inclusions are preserved in their natural form within a dry, waterproof compartment. While they are arranged with secure placement in mind, some inclusions may shift slightly over time as the piece is worn.
STEP 4: Select your Crystal Window Style
Choose the crystal window that will seal and protect your inclusions within the compartment. Select from Crystal Quartz in Smooth or Faceted finishes, or Rose Cut Moissanite (SML / MED sizes).
STEP 5: Engraving - Optional
For rings, engraving is placed on the inside of the band and can include up to 16 characters.
For pendants, engraving options depend on the size selected:
- SML - 1 line, 6 characters
- MED - 2 lines, 6 characters per line
- LRG - 3 lines, 6 characters per line

Precious metal information
Your Time Capsule is an heirloom quality keepsake and is handmade using recycled, 100% Australian gold and nickel-free metals. Choose from Argentium silver, Jewellers' brass, or 9k/14k yellow/rose/palladium white gold.
Each piece is handcrafted using the lost wax casting method, allowing for fine detail and one-of-a-kind designs. Thoughtfully made to be both personal and enduring, these keepsakes are designed to be treasured for years to come.
Argentium Silver
- A modern silver alloy made with germanium
- Brighter and more tarnish-resistant than traditional sterling silver
- More resistant to corrosion and requires less maintenance to stay bright
- Slightly harder than sterling silver
- Hypoallergenic and well suited to sensitive skin
- A beautiful choice for those wanting the look of silver with easier everyday care
Jewellers’ Brass
- Crafted from a copper and zinc alloy
- Rich, warm tone reminiscent of antique gold
- Nickel-free but not considered hypoallergenic
- It will naturally develop patina over time
- Requires polishing to restore and maintain its shine
- A more accessible alternative to gold
9k Yellow, Rose and Palladium White Gold
- Made from 37.5% pure gold, blended with other metals for added strength

Timeframe
Each keepsake is carefully handmade to order, making every piece truly unique.
Our standard processing time is 8-10 weeks from when we receive your inclusions. During peak seasons like Mother’s Day and Christmas, turnaround times may be slightly longer due to high demand.

Time Capsule care
Your Time Capsule is made to be treasured for a lifetime, but like all fine jewellery, it needs care to keep it looking its best.
Caring for metals:
All jewellery made from precious metals will show signs of wear with everyday use. Light scratches, soft patina, or slight darkening over time are normal. To keep your Reliquary bright simply; wipe your piece regularly with a soft polishing cloth, avoid abrasive cleaners, and store it somewhere dry when not in use.
Waterproofing:
Each Time Capsule has a permanent waterproof seal protecting your inclusions. It’s safe for everyday wear, but avoid chlorinated water and prolonged submergence. Treat it like a waterproof watch; fine for rain, handwashing and showers, but not for swimming, spas, or long periods underwater.
Chlorinated & salt water will corrode precious metals
Non-Yellowing:
Your inclusions sit inside a dry compartment, no resin is used.
Arrangements with breastmilk or coloured backgrounds use our non-yellowing cold enamel and are covered under our non-yellow warranty.
Avoid:
Chlorine, dyes, harsh chemicals, salt water, perfumes, lotions, self-tanners, and long periods of direct sunlight or heat. These elements can damage your Reliquary and/or Inclusions.
Storage:
Keep your piece dry and stored in a jewellery box or pouch, away from humidity to keep its shine and other jewellery to avoid scratches.

Warranty
Our warranty covers manufacturing defects for 24 months from the date of receipt. It does not include damage from normal wear, accidents, misuse, or alterations made outside of Milk & Stone’s care.
We can not guarantee the colour fastness of your inclusions due to the unique nature of your selections.

FAQ
Can I send frozen milk?
Yes you can!
If your milk is frozen please make sure you defrost it and mail it to us in a sterile milk storage bag.
Squeeze out any air inside the bag, seal it, wrap it in a paper towel and place it inside another milk storage bag. Label the second bag with your order number (not receipt number) and your name.
Your milk does not need to stay cold in transit.
Are Reliquaries waterproof?
Yes. Every Reliquary has a permanent waterproof seal that protects your inclusions inside a dry, enclosed compartment.
We recommend treating your piece like a waterproof watch, safe for handwashing, rain and showering but not for swimming, spas, or long periods underwater.
How many inclusions can I add to my Reliquary?
There’s no limit to how many inclusions you can add. The main thing to keep in mind is the size of your piece and the arrangement style you’ve chosen.
For Shaker Reliquaries, your main inclusion needs to be large enough to sit over the background of the compartment. Any additional inclusions will be added as small fragments. Some inclusions may move more freely than others once sealed, this is normal, and we can’t control their movement inside the compartment.
For hair placements, the Ringlet style requires at least 5cm (2") in length. If you’re sending multiple hair samples, we’ll either mix them or place them side by side depending on their lengths and the style selected (Natural or Ringlet).
If you’re unsure what will fit, you can always email us a photo of your inclusions before ordering. We’re happy to guide you toward the best option for your piece.
How much of my inclusions do I send?
Milk: 2-15mL (1 tbs) of milk inside a sterile milk storage bag with the air squeezed out.
Ashes: 1/2 teaspoon. Any ashes that aren't used for your piece are posted back to you with your completed jewellery.
Hair: A pinch about 5mm thick. If you'd like the ringlet placement, please ensure it's at least 5cm long.
Placenta/Umbilical cord: One capsule or a 5-10mm dried section.
Sand/soil: 1/2 teaspoon. Soil can not be sent overseas.
Flowers: 2-4 Petals from each flower. These must be dried for a minimum of 3 weeks and pest free prior to being sent to us.
